zimbra_logo.gif I've finally gotten around to doing some more productive projects at work, as opposed to all the sustentive tasks that usually take place in an IT/IS environment. After slowly pushing myself toward server virtualization by utilizing some unused server hardware around the office (such as a spare PowerEdge 2900 that miraculously survived a fire), I've finally made the plunge into production virtual servers. I'll be launching the OS edition of Zimbra on a virtual Ubuntu Server 6.06 platform, which will be hosted on a custom built 1U server. Read on to see all the specs, but the initial setup will require some custom compiles for integrated peripheral support, along with some additional package installs for management (SSH/VMWare Console/etc.) and enhanced performance (IEEE802.3AD Dynamic Link Aggregation).
